It gives me great pleasure to be here with you this morning.
I would first like to thank Mr. Clyde Sharpe and the entire Elasto Proxy team for their warm welcome.
I am here on behalf of the Honourable Navdeep Bains, Minister of Innovation, Science and Economic Development. Mr. Bains is also the Minister responsible for Canada Economic Development for Quebec Regions – CED.
I am making this announcement today in his name, and he has asked me to pass along his very best wishes. The Government of Canada is committed to supporting innovation and economic growth.
It is precisely because it focuses on innovation that the project we are celebrating today will bring economic benefits to the Laurentians region. I am therefore very happy to announce that Elasto Proxy has been awarded a repayable contribution of $247,500.
CED’s support has enabled the company to acquire and install new cutting-edge equipment to improve its production capacity and productivity. The funding was provided through CED’s Quebec Economic Development Program. One of the Government of Canada’s priorities is to ensure the prosperity of communities. That is why the government supports businesses in their efforts to increase productivity, develop new products, or improve existing products and services. Economic vitality relies chiefly on innovation, the creation of value-added products and the development of efficient processes.
Elasto Proxy is a concrete example of businesses that contribute to the economic vitality of their regions by focusing on those very elements. In closing, I wish Mr. Sharpe and his team every success. I am confident that the company’s vision and the team’s expertise will ensure a very prosperous future.
